My friend posted this link on my facebook wall yesterday. I found it quite amusing and decided to share it with y'all. It's a (France) french parody of the current Doctor and Amy who were called to the rescue. It's pretty amusing. Enjoy! Oh, and there is also an Oh Land video because this song has been stuck in my head for the last few days and it might as well be in your head too :)
It's one thing to promote an upcoming video. It's another to create a whole trailer about it. Even with a collaboration as epic as the Muppets and OK-GO, it's not really necessary. Now it just raised my expectations to a whole new level.
OK-GO has a really high standard for videos and they have created some of the most memorable videos out there (the theadmill dancing or weird multi-coloured stop motion park thing just to jog your memory). And the Muppets are, well, the Muppets. For ever engrained in pop culture for the last, what, 40 years or so? I'm very curious about the music as well, because I can only sing about 1 and a half OK-GO songs and the Muppets are exactly the most talented musicians out there, as cute as they are.
But this trailer has me expecting the most epic thing thing possible. Like going to space! - Oh wait, the Muppets did that already. There was a whole movie... Well they will just have to try super duper extra hard to impress me now.
I have been watching a crazy amount of random YouTube videos lately and one day I happened across a cover of Beyonce's Why Don't You Love Me by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. That got me thinking about covers and a musician's ability to take a well known song and alter it to fit their style, while still keeping the song's essence. I love covers because it's always interesting to hear a different interpretation and sometimes I end up liking the newer version better than the original. So after some searching and thinking, here are some of my favourite covers:
MARIA ARAGON - Born This Way (Lady Gaga Cover) (This is by an 11 year-old girl from Winnipeg, Manitoba. Lady Gaga fell in love and flew her out to perform at her concert in Toronto)
KURT HUMMEL/CHRIS COLFER (Glee) - Rose's Turn (Cover from the musical Gypsy)
I'm not to sure when the official start to ♥♥SPRING♥♥ is, but I'm going to say it was yesterday. Why? Because I lost an hour of sleep changing my clocks so it had better be for a good reason.
But anyways, today is the nicest and loveliest day it has been in a long long time. All last week was rainy and dreary and cold. Actually, not rain, but rather falling slush, through which cars drive and splash you :( But today made up for all of that!! The sun is shining, the birds chirping, not hats or mittens required! And I like it.
I decided to embrace it a bit and do some errands (really just one and a mini, completely unnecessary, shopping spree). I had to return some books to the library so I headed on the streetcar to enjoy the sunshine (I know, it's inside, but it's better than the subway). I went to pay fines. Ridiculous fines!!! 50 cents a day per book!!!! WTFudge!!! 3 books + 3 days over due = $4.50!! That's, (once more), RIDICULOUS!!, considering I just came from a library system where it was only 10 cents a day :( But I paid it, because I'm a good child.
Then I did a bit of nail polish shopping, spent a bit too much money, and realized my familia is right, it's a bit of an addiction. But I enjoy it, and none of us have yet to die or be hospitalized from the fumes. So there: justified.
If you feel like reading something and you have no clue what, I recommend The Associate by John Grisham (♥ him). Good read, although I am currently in the process of completing it myself. Well, I hope you guys are having a beautiful, lovely, super-fantastic day!!

Because Franz Ferdinand makes any day THAT much better ♥♥♥
